"Nothing Special.

I Just Decided to Do Domething About it."

My Story:

Yosmel Gutierrez
Founder of GeeGoals (Interconnected Prosperous Goals)

I came to the United States from Cuba with nothing but ambition and a deep belief that hard work could build a better life. Like millions of immigrants before me, I learned quickly that the American Dream is real, but it is not equally accessible to everyone.

My first lesson came the hard way. Wells Fargo opened an account for me without properly explaining how fees worked. Within a short time, my account was $5 in the negative, and I had no money to fix it. No one called to help. No one explained my options. I was simply another face they looked past, another "alien."

As my English improved and I worked hard to build my credit and income, I assumed the doors would open. But even six years later, with the credit score and income to qualify, lenders still declined me. The reason? I had no banking relationship with a national bank.

My response was simple: Why would I build a relationship with a bank that never cared about me? And why was I being penalized for it?

Then I met a banker from School First Federal Credit Union who did something no one had done before: he sat down with me, explained the system, showed me my options, and treated me like a client worth investing in. That one relationship changed everything.

I understood then why competition among financial providers matters. Why understanding the financial system is essential, and why having the right banking relationships is the most important and most overlooked advantage any entrepreneur can have.

That banker did not just help me get funded. He showed me what was possible when someone in the financial system actually cares.

The Problem We Are Solving.

If there is one thing I have learned in the United States, it is this: no one wants to be poor, and almost everyone, regardless of background, believes in the possibility of building a better life.

The American Dream runs on one of the most powerful financial systems in the world. At its foundation is a single concept: Lending. From credit cards to mortgages, from business loans to Debt capital markets, money is always flowing from those who have it to those who can put it to productive use.

So the real question is never "Is there capital?" Of Course there is.

The real question is: Can you access it? And do you know how to use it to grow?

For some, this understanding comes naturally. They grew up surrounded by it: the education, the mentors, the networks, the generational resources to master the strategic use of debt.

For many other immigrants, first-generation entrepreneurs, and working-class families, debt feels confusing, overwhelming, or even frightening.

Every successful entrepreneur who knows how to acquire and use capital has one thing in common: strong financial relationships. Not transactional ones or predatory ones. Relationships built on trust, respect, education, and long-term alignment.

Not all of us come from generational wealth. And that is okay. That has never stopped anyone from achieving their goals. But it is important to acknowledge that we do not all start from the same place, and if we can build a system where every entrepreneur in the world has a fair chance to access sustainable capital, we move toward a more Prosperous, Safer, and Equitable world.

This is exactly why I built GeeGoals.

What GeeGoals Does Today.

GeeGoals is a platform that connects small business owners, especially immigrant entrepreneurs, with local bankers and financial providers who have real expertise in their industry.

We believe the right banking relationship is not a luxury. It is the foundation of Lendable Growth™.

Through our platform and consulting services, we help small businesses:

  • Get Connected with banking and lending professionals who understand their industry

  • Get Banked with local banks, regional banks, credit unions, and CDFIs

  • Get Funded with higher loan approvals, competitive rates, and transparent terms

And when businesses need extra support, our consulting team, led by a Licensed Commercial Loan Broker and Certified Commercial Banking Credit Analyst, walks them through every step of the process.

Where We Are Going.

Today, GeeGoals connects small businesses with the right bankers. But our vision is much larger.

We are building toward a world where Main Street is the only street that matters, where a profitable small business anywhere in the world, regardless of the founder's background, can access the capital it needs to grow, expand, and create opportunity in its community.

We believe access to capital is not a privilege. It is a right. And we are building the infrastructure to make that a reality, one relationship, one loan, one business at a time.
